Frank Cavazos' Boomerang is probably still one of the best 48" combat wings you can get. It's fast (compared to other combat wings), retains energy well, and is tough. This plane is all EPP, yet is still fairly light. Mine is about 18oz, but you can get them down to 15oz if you are carefull. Mine is covered on top with Ultracote, and the bottom is covered with clear packing tape. Some people opt for an all-tape covering, which is lighter. I used Hitec HS-85 metal geared servos, which have worked out very well. I haven't had one strip yet, though I do put a kink in the linkage so that a hard impact will bend the pushrod wire, rather then transfering the force directly into the servo. Standard servos will work fine too. If you do use micros, make sure to mount them fairly forward. Other wise, you have to add nose weight to get the plane to balance, which defeats the purpose of the lighter micros. For more information and tips, go here.
