On the last night of the 2008 Historic Hastings Car Show there was a black '65 El Camino with a For Sale sign
on it. I took a few pictures of it and looked it over and that was that.
I already had a '64 El Camino deeply into "tear-down", waiting for 1/4's, floors, interior, and money... mostly
I couldn't get the black car out of my head. The '65 was basically a complete, nearly un-molested original,
with perfect floors, no body rot, decent bed, beautiful paint & a nice interior.
The more I bounced the numbers around, it made more sense to get the '65, upgrade it & make it "mine",
than to continue the '64 project car.
These are some photos of the car the 1st time I saw it, and subsequently in "as-bought" condition.
Interior shot - car has a '64 dash panel, but the correct knobs for '65???
Shot of the frame & floorpans.
Maybe there's no rust, because the thing hemorrages fluid of all types??
