  • Much Better Than Glass! Glass allows algae to grow, competing with roots for available oxygen,, and why have that, instead, beautify with Ivy Balls!
  • Small opening keeps evaporation to a minimum, less refilling, less chance of plant-loss due to dry out.
  • Nice and dark interior, just like being underground, keeping roots from overheating: glass just magnifys light and heat.  Ivy Balls are better.
  • Porcelain actually provides some mineral content for plant to feed off of. You don't have to add any fertilizer to get nice bushy roots!
  • Hanging relieves weight (and space), on shelves less chance of spill, make great use of otherwise un-used window space.
  • Adds wonderful color to sometimes an otherwise plain all-green plant area.
  • AND, the added plus is that the strings that the Ivy Ball hangs by actually help hold the new cutting up, and later provide support to train the vines up and around!
  • The monofilament cording used is tested to 40#, plenty strong, even for outdoor use!
  • Last of all, my IvyBalls will not leak!!

Each is individually handpainted by the artist Stephanie of Schulz Porcelain. Layer upon layer, with many different brushes, the color is applied with love and care, sometimes careful and detailed, sometimes flamboyant and bold.

"My mother developed this idea many years ago, and encouraged me to explore the field of handpainting. It was a big leap for me, never having any formal art training. But she had faith in me. I have been painting flowers on cone 6 porcelain since. I started selling to Mossy Creek Pottery, and it has continued to be my major sales outlet.  I am interested in blossoming my business, and am now offering my artglaze paintings on Ivy Balls and Wall Pockets to a wider audience online. I am grateful for all the support I have received, and I look forward to doing business with you."

Only When Painted with Love in My Heart, do they turn out the way I want them,, beautiful!! (sheesh!)

How I Paint

* First, I take a walk, to Observe Nature
* Second, I lay my batch out before me, and Contemplate My Color Pallette
* Then, I roll my sleeves up, breath deap, and dive in!
