These Belgium photos by Orv Iverson include shots of the aftermath of the building he was in when it took a direct hit by a German V-1 rocket ("Buzz-Bomb"). His amazing story of survival and his thoughts and feelings of the dark times of the Battle of the Bulge are captured in his story. (see link below)

These are pictures of the 7th Armored in Verviers Belgium on the way to the Battle of the Bulge. Most of the 7th Armored never returned. (Tank picture is understandabley shakey, as it is a challenge to take a quick, steady, picture of a tank rumbling past, using a snapshot camera.)

First frame above is the specifications of the V-1 rocket that hit the building with Orv inside in Belgium. This is Orv in 1999 next to a V-1 rocket, similar to the one that he survived.

The next thing I found myself buried under the wooden chalkboard that had been hanging on the wall above my head. A buzz bomb had exploded just outside of our window. It was difficult to breathe. There was a strong smell of gunpowder. My cot had broken from the weight of the debris resting on the wooden chalk board....... (click for the rest of the story)
