About Honduran Soccer & the World Cup
Honduras is capable of winning the World Cup on any given year. But in year 2006, Honduras will not be at the World Cup. Why? There may be any one of several reasons. It might be the effects of Hurricane Mitch on the economy of Honduras. Perhaps the financial backing for Hondurass participation was not available because of so many social needs in Honduras.
A second possibility may have to do with the change of coaches. Or morale may be low for many reasons. The effects of Hurricane Mitch may be more than just financial, it may have impacted the spirit of the people.
The fact is, it is going to require a grassroots effort by those who love Honduran soccer and the people of Honduras. We at the International Sports Adventure Institute are enlisting the aid of Hondurans everywhere in the world to ensure that Honduras gets to the World Cup in 2010.
Proyecto HonduCopa 2010 is being developed to provide 2 million dollars for the Honduran National Team to make a run to the 2010 World Cup. We want to develop youth soccer programs in Honduras, bring American youth to Honduras to play in our HonduCopa 2005 soccer camps to raise awareness in the USA.
All Hondurans and those who love Honduran
soccer are invited to participate by emailing to exportfacs@aol.com .
