Description

Coloration: Vivid yellow spots dorsally and ventrally on a brown or black background.
Skin: Weakly rugose.
Size: S/V 22 -24 mm

Toes: 4>3>5>2>1 Toe disks on 2-4 highly expanded.
Teeth: Absent.
Vocalization:7-60 second train of harsh notes at 3-4 notes per second.

Distribution

Western Panamá. Locality 8° 46´ N, between 82° 10´ - 82° 13´ W, at 1050 m. elevation near Quebrada de Arena, Province of Chiriquí, Panamá.

Habitat & Ecology

Lowland swampy rainforest buttresses to high canopied montane rainforest. Found in bromeliads up 10 m.

Reproduction

Breeding appears to be vent to vent after lengthy courtship behavior. Eggs are laid on bromeliads.

Conservation

Status: Threatened.
