Description

Small species (typically 26mm-28mm). Dorsal coloration is green with numerous small white spots scattered throughout. Iris silver with slight black reticulation. Slight fleshy fringe along outside regions of forearm, and lower leg. Snout slightly elongated. Extensive webbing between fingers II-III-IV. Venter and parietal peritoneum transparent. Organs covered in white lining.

Distribution

Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá, and Colombia.

Habitat & Ecology

Nocturnal and riparian (found in the vegetation above and near streams).

Reproduction

This smaller species often calls from the tops of leaves overhanging moving water. The advertisement calls of this species are singular or a series of high pitched "ticks". The green eggs of this species are typically deposited on the tips of leaves hanging in a thick jelly mass slightly smaller then a golf ball.

Conservation

Status: Not Listed, but habitat destruction threatens amphibians worldwide.
