The Off Stage Ladies... When
you visit us and are seated, peruse our program before the curtain rises. Many of the people making the production
happen are listed there. However, none of it would happen without the unflagging support of the Off Stage Ladies!
An Off Stage Lady likely took your reservation & ushered
you to your seat. Off Stage Ladies work on costumes, makeup & hair, paint the set, sometimes run the light
board or sound system, hunted for the props, & fed the hungry cast and crew on Long Sunday (a double rehearsal on the
Sunday just before the play opens), and if you're very lucky, some of the actresses on stage will be Off Stage Ladies!
Still more! Off Stage Ladies helped put together the printed program.
Others worked on fundraising projects that provided such things as the new seats and carpeting, the lobby, the computerized
light board & sound system, the heating and air conditioning in the makeup/dressing rooms & a new stage
floor. The list goes on and on! In addition, there are social activities, including luncheons,
October through May.
If you are interested in getting involved in any activity (you're
SURE to have special talents & skills that you could being to us!), if you like to meet people from different parts of
the U.S., and want to be a member of a really lively group, join the Off Stage Ladies and open the door to an exciting new
adventure! It's easy:
Please write to Carol Heckman, President, c/o
P.O. Box 2059, Anna Maria, FL 34216 for more information. Please include your contact information and tell us "I'm
interested in becoming a member of the Off Stage Ladies of the Island Players!" (Members must be or willing to
become a Season Ticket holder, and attend luncheon meetings on the second Wednesday of each month, October - May)."
We look forward to having you join the Island Players family!
