Web Hosting Difficulty November 13, 1999 - 7:00am CST - intrep
I'm perilously close to running over my monthly web traffic bandwidth limit. Therefore, I'm going to have to remove the Squid RPM until I can make arrangements for some mirrors (any volunteers or suggestions? :) In the meantime, I will put the spec file and patches up so people can build the RPM for themselves. Hopefully, I will have the binary and source RPM onto a mirror later this morning. I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

Minor Squid Source RPM update October 1, 1999 - 6:30pm CDT - intrep
There was another minor boo-boo, this time in the squid rpm spec file. It only affects people who are rebuilding from the source rpm, and who do not have the sgml-tools package installed. To avoid being bitten, simply install the sgml-tools package before trying to build the squid rpm. For those that want an updated spec file, it is available here. If you don't know what a spec file is, chances are this update does not apply to you.

To be clear, users of the binary i386 rpm are not affected by this problem and do not need to update.

Squid for 6.0 September 25, 1999 - 11:00pm CDT - intrep
The ultra cool Squid team has released version 2.2.STABLE5 of the Squid internet object cache. I have created an RPM of this for Redhat 6.0. Since I have switched all my systems to Redhat 6, all future versions of the Squid RPM will be for 6.0 or above. So if you're running 6+, head on over to the Squid RPM page or the download page and pick up a copy. Also, be sure to check the release notes in the Squid RPM page for some important info on upgrading!

Apologies September 14, 1999 - 11:50pm CDT - intrep
My apologies go out to all users of Netscape Navigator on XFree86. My previous font selection looked awful with the default Netscape/XFree86 font settings. This problem has been corrected, as well as some minor Mozilla display quirks (there are still a few left to be ironed out). Apparently, font ugliness in XFree86 is nothing new, for more info, check out the XFree86 Font Deuglification Mini HOW-TO.
