Prior work experience has included: Assistant Director of the North Dakota State University Extension Service with responsibilities for the 4-H Youth Development Program. In this role he served as the administrator responsible for the vision, leadership, and management of the largest volunteer and youth-development organization in North Dakota. For three years, Jeff served as convener for the National Network for Collaboration, a consortium of 20 land-grant universities that worked to develop processes, tools, and techniques to assist groups and individuals in achieving shared goals. He has recently co-authored a workbook on effective collaboration. Jeff has worked as a youth and community development specialist for the University of Illinois; evaluation coordinator of a nationally funded human, organizational, and community capacity building initiative; and university extension agent in Georgia. In these roles he has developed skills in group facilitation, managing and embracing change, and team-building for results. He also has several years of experience in the daily workings of a multi-faceted agribusiness enterprise. Jeff's Bachelor's and Master's degrees are from the Ohio State University in Education, with specific course work in Adult Education, Extension Education, and Agricultural Education. His Ph.D., in Extension Education with emphasis in human development, research and statistical methods, and educational design, is from Pennsylvania State University. Miller is a charter member and recent board member of the Association of Leadership Educators. Other professional associations include: the Innovation Network, the American Evaluation Association, International Association of Facilitators , the Indianapolis Organization Development Group, Leadership Roundtable, and American Society for Training & Development (ASTD). Jeff plays trumpet and was a five-year member of the Ohio State University Marching Band. He is an avid photographer. Jeffrey P. Jeffrey P. Miller, Ph.D. Jeff Miller is President and Senior Educator for Innovative Leadership Solutions, a company that believes in the power of individuals to transform themselves, their communities, and their organizations through personal and team learning. He has served as the Interim Executive Director for the Community Leadership Association (http://communityleadership.org). Jeff is an associate of the Cascade Center for Community Leadership, and a member of the steering committee for the Medgar Evers Institute. He is a former member of the educational facilitation team with the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant-Leadership, and is an adjunct professor in the MBA program of the University of Indianapolis. |
