My Mom
Her 50th Birthday Party was a Surprise! (June 6, 2001)
Here's the Kitty Litter desert I made for the Party (see recipe at the bottom of the page). It was a hit! But, my ever proper mom wasn't sure she wanted to try it. She couldn't believe I made THAT for her party:
Mike-ie likes it! She really likes it!
Here's my mom with a local Elvis impersonator on her real 50th birthday at the local 50s diner:
Kitty Litter Recipe:
I just went to Wal-mart and bought a cheap kitty litter plastic pan and pooper scooper. They also had this Wal-mart brand cereal that proved great for the litter. I think it was called Golden Nuggets or something. It had the word "nuggets" in it. Just look for cereal that looks like kitty litter texture.
I then got some powdered sugar and mixed it with the cereal in the litter box until all of the cereal was covered and dusty looking.
Next, I got my ever-faithful bottle of Winnie-the-Pooh honey and squeezed it in clumpy areas so that several spots looked like they had been pee-ed on.
Finally, I got those turd-like looking tootsie rolls (about 3 inches long and 1.5-2 inches wide or so) and hid them down in the litter. I had to buy a bag with a variety of tootsie roll candies to get these, as they were hard to find in a bag by themselves. If you can't find them, Snickers' bite-sized nugget candies might work. But I tell ya, get the tootsie rolls if you can...they make perfect cat turds.
