Land, Water, and Sky Tours - 2009

glacnpavcreek.jpg

Travel with us to new and different destinations in 2010! Land, Water, and Sky Tours travels to some of the midwest's most wonderful natural areas, to study the natural history of a variety of plant communities and the birds and animals that live there. We do not focus solely on birds. We  investigate numerous other species of animals and plants, and we make a point to study other aspects of the ecology of each place we visit.

During 2006 and 2007, our travels took us from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, to southern Illinois' bald-cypress swamps, Wisconsin's Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, the south shore of Lake Superior in winter, and the Driftless Area of southwestern Wisconsin in autumn. In February of 2008, we traveled to northeastern Minnesota, the Sax-Zim Bog, and Duluth; and in the spring of 2008, to Whitefish Point, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In early 2009 our locations included northeastern Wisconsin and the Door Peninsula. Single day trips to southern Wisconsin locations for spring 2009 included the Sugar River, plus grasslands in Rock and Green counties, and several State Natural Areas in Dane County.

A new Land, Water, and Sky east-central Illinois trip is planned for the spring of 2010, to seek SMITH'S LONGSPUR and other April specialties. For details on this trip and others, including destinations, dates, and prices, please contact me:
