Papers

Shakti Shoji specializes in using richly colored hand made papers as a variation to enhance and accent the traditional style of shoji.

As you can see, the colors and textures of these papers can be quite spectacular.

The papers on the left are generally called Thai Unryu.  This paper on the right is called "kinwashi" with flecks of grass.

Generally speaking, the most durable "paper" is actually Fiberglass "Synskin" (not pictured here).

Thus far, our most beautiful and durable shoji are a combination of the Fiberglass Synskin and Thai Unryu.  If you wish, we will gladly send sample pieces of either.
