Welcome to the the Bloody Clans main page. Before going further it might be helpful to explain just who we are. After all, there must be SOME people who haven't heard of TBC. <snorts are heard>

On the GEnie online network there was until recently an online game called Multi-Player Battletech. The game, based on the Battletech universe created by
FASA Corporation, was produced by Kesmai Corporation and was in existence on GEnie for nearly five years. Kesmai has plans to produce the game in a newer form in SVGA under Win95. There are plans to run the game on several other online services. For some background on the game as well as various Battletech links visit Yoshi's Page.

The Bloody Clans was in continuous existence within the game itself for almost the entire time MPBT was on GEnie. We made up the oldest and probably the most respected group within the game, at least compared to other "mercenary" groups that helped make up part of the game. Currently, we comprise over forty players from all over the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Without going into particulars, suffice it to say that most TBC members were long term veteran players of MPBT, most of whom made a significant mark elsewhere within the game itself before joining us. We have many former House Leaders and House XOs who gave up the military to join us.

In the early months of the game, up past the first year at least, TBC played the "good guy" in the game, usually fighting on the side of the underdog or the small outnumbered House. Often it was our entry on one side or another that made the difference and allowed that side to win. During the first summer we took over House Marik and ran both the Free Worlds League as well as the Bloody Clans (at that time called simply "the Clans") mercenary units. We left the military however and never looked back, finding the mercenary lifestyle within the game much more to our liking.

Soon though, we grew tired of always being the "good guys", especially since most other merc units within the game at that time had also started roleplaying that same aspect. After much discussion, we decided to turn our roleplaying 180 degrees and become the "bad guys." We changed our name to The BLOODY Clans and did everything in our power to live up to that name. We found this to be both MUCH more fun (hey...it's much easier being evil AND you can come up with all sorts of ummmm.... "interesting" scenarios) as well as more challenging to roleplay. There was nothing within the game of MPBT itself that allowed you to be "evil" or "bad", so we had to basically do that by stories or posts on the GEnie MPBT bulletin board. That is where we grew quite adept at being truly nasty and murderous. We also did things online within the context of the game itself while turning them into something else entirely with our posts and stories. Things are what you make of them. <nasty grin>

Then the Internet came along and some of us started using it and decided it was a perfect instrument for us to use to both extend and enrich that roleplaying we in TBC have grown to love. So...what you will find here and on other TBC pages on the web are elements we've roleplayed within MPBT comprising both old and new material. If Battletech and Multi-Player Battletech are not your cup of tea, you're still welcome to read on and browse some of the material. Some of the fiction will be updated periodically and new humor will often find its way to one TBC page or another. We're serious about the game of Btech and usually take our roleplaying seriously also BUT not so serious that we can't inject some humor or even laugh at ourselves at times. Hope you have fun here and return often.

BE WARNED THOUGH! THE TBC POINT OF VIEW IS OFTEN DARK AND BRUTAL! SOME OF THE FICTION AND OTHER STUFF APPEARING HERE WILL BE ALSO...THAT I CAN GUARANTEE!
