HW Due Wednesday, February 6
Hue Strip
- Final hue strip is due.
Reminder: When running low on mixed color that you know you will need more of, be sure to mix an additional quantity before you run out so that you can match wet to wet. Follow these steps:
- Start with a separate, clean mixing container. Mix the additional quantity of color from scratch. When you think you are close to the original color, smear a small amount of the original color on a clean, neutral surface. Then use a separate brush or palette knife to smear a small portion of newly mixed color directly on top of the original color. Look carefully to assess the difference and adjust the new mixture accordingly.
- Continue to make a direct physical comparison of the two colors as you adjust. When the two color looks indistinguishable, combine the two colors into a single container, and wash out the left-over container.
Hue Circle
- Continue progress on the hue circle, using masking tape to separate the colors.
- Purchase or mix a neutral gray. (Small containers of neutral gray gesso are availbale at art supply stores.)
Note: Please bring Color Aid packs to class.
