Where did the idea come from....
In
early 2004, after working with others to promote my own style of music with little success, I decided to change my own mind
and try something different. I spent time contacting musicians, publishers, promoters, to learn what it takes to make music
work for them. The answer was the same with most people. You've got to do it yourself!
Depending on others
to seek your dream, usually doesn't work in the long run. That's when I came up with the idea of something different. A company
that didn't seek control, but would assist with someone seeking to find their own way in music. Most corporate labels concentrate
on the profits vs losses. SONGBEAR concentrates "only on what works for you"...
If you are looking for someone to
manage all aspects of your career, then you're probably scratching up the wrong tree. That's not what we're about.
We
can assist you in finding out what works for you....
So where does SONGBEAR profit in all of this?
If
you join Songbear as an artist, we will work to promote your music, and provide you performance showcases. If booked
through SONGBEAR, there is a 15% booking fee to be collected after the performance. You may also sell your merchandise through
our website for a minimal charge.
This is a hobby for me and as of yet, I've made very little money, but have had
lots of fun working with all of our professional artists here at SONGBEAR.
In Songbear's 4 years of operation,
our artists have performed at many benefits and charity events for free, and we will continue that tradition...We believe
in helping others...That's part of who we are, and we expect no less from our performers...
You help us, and
we help you...A co-op of the musical kind~ It's all a part of working together for the common good for all of us. Money is
not the objective here...It's the MUSIC!
