The Institute of New Dimensions (IND), established in 1986, is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to offer
low-cost, college-level, short courses to people 50 years and older. The program is run entirely by volunteers and taught
by volunteer professionals.
Faculty include both active and retired college professors and professionals. Many of them have been with the program
since its early days and teach year after year. Some courses feature lectures by newsmakers and "media stars." Teachers
in the program are distinguished authorities willing to share their expertise with mature adults who are eager to renew or
extend their own education.
IND offers daytime courses during fall and spring terms. Each course consists of five 90-minute sessions offered over
12 weeks. Students may enroll in as many courses as they choose. IND supports the belief that intellectual stimulation fosters
wellness in an older population.
