Hydrology for Engineers, Geologists and Environmental Professionals integrates the subjects of surface, subsurface, and contaminant hydrology. It prepares the reader to analyze today's environmental problems. The author presents the fundamental concepts of physical and contaminant hydrology of watersheds, rivers, lakes, soils, and aquifers in an easy and accessible manner to the environmental professional. Many practical examples and solved problems illustrate the concepts. State of the art research on groundwater and contaminant transport modeling is explained in a clear fashion. Hydrology for Engineers, Geologists and Environmental Professionals includes a FREE copy of KYSPILL, the easiest groundwater pollution model in the market.

Contents: The Hydrologic Cycle. Precipitation. Evaporation and Transpiration. Infiltration and Recharge. Groundwater. Surface Runoff and Streamflow. The Hydrology of Extreme Events. Hydrologic Aspects of Water Quality. The Hydrology of River Pollution. The Hydrology of Lake Pollution. Soil and Groundwater Pollution (including a computer practice with the KYSPILL software). Solved problems, exercise problems, illustrations, chapter references, index.

Detailed Contents of the Book.

Independent Reviews and Opinions about "Hydrology for Engineers..."

About the Author: Dr. Sergio E. Serrano has over 20 years of experience teaching as a professor of hydrologic engineering at the University of Waterloo (Canada), and the University of Kentucky (U.S.A.). He received his Ph.D.from the University of Waterloo. He has over 25 years of international professional experience in hydrologic engineering and hydrologic modeling. He is the author of over 80 publications in scientific journals and books in the field of hydrology; an editor of the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Hydrologic Engineering. Dr. Serrano pioneered the development of new analytical solutions of non-linear equations in watershed hydrology, unsaturated flow under stochastic hysteresis, transient regional groundwater flow, and scale-dependent contaminant dispersion in aquifers.
