Credit by Examination - DANTES Study Guides

College textbooks are generally expensive, as they are published in much lower numbers than mass-market books. There is a series of study guides by Jack Rudman, which you may find useful in preparing for DANTES, CLEP, and other exams. Given that you could save thousands of dollars by taking these exams, their cost is probably not unreasonable. Nonetheless, we must point out that some people are not well pleased with these books. They are not much to look at, being rather thin and often spiral-bound.

We think these books can be a good value, but that depends on your particular needs. Often there are no other "test prep" type books specifically for the exams they cover as far as we know. If you are ordering these books from Amazon, be sure to look at details and customer reviews. Be aware that, like other exam reviews, these books are designed to give you an idea of the range of subject matter on the test and some practice questions. They are not complete course texts.

We are happy to sell books that will help you meet your educational goals, but we would rather lose a dollar or two in commissions than a valued customer. Not many reviews have been written for them, and it seems that dissatisfied customers are often the first to sound off (sometimes coherently).
