If you watch PBS, you may already qualify for college credit just by passing an examination associated with their broadcast telecourses. I'm not sure whether the DANTES / CLEP courses were modelled after the telecourses or vice versa, but in most cases there is far too much similarity in content to be a coincidence. The majority of these programs are part of The Annenberg / CPB Project, and are available free on the Annenberg Channel either via satellite or broadband internet. Other programs are broadcast on PBS or are available through their producers.
In most areas these instructional programs will be on PBS, but usually in the middle of the night. They are a good excuse to buy that Digital Video Recorder
