Principles of Macroeconomics - Credit by Examination - CLEP

The College Level Examination Program ( CLEP ) is administered by The College Board, which also administers the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). There are currently some 2900 colleges and universities that grant credit based on CLEP exams. Each institution sets its own policy regarding CLEP credit, so you should check with the school you plan to attend for details.

Brief test descriptions for these exams are available online, but more detail can be found in The CLEP Official Study Guide 16th ed.

First, look at the CLEP Principles of Macroeconomics Study Guide to get a general idea of the subject matter. Note that most of the available study materials cover both Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. Although Macro- precedes Micro- alphabetically, Microeconomics (the study of discrete portions of the economic system, such as supply and demand) is usually taught as a prerequisite to Macroeconomics (the study of the interaction of such components.) You should consider taking both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in that order.

You should also be aware that the CLEP Macroeconomics is virtually the same as AP Macroeconomics, and that study materials for the two tests can be used interchangeably.
