The Chuck Box that is pictured on this site is one that evolved over many
years of camping.
Building my first Chuck Box was one that involved my two sons Ross and
Robert. In those days we had a woodworking shop and the first box was built one nail at a time with a hammer, setting each
nail head and filling the holes with wood filler.
The boxes since then were built one nail at a time with a nail gun then filling the holes with
Woodworking life long hobby:
As a kid growing up I remember building things with wood.
My dad and two uncles provided much time, encouragement,
tools, wood and a lot of patience.
In high school I majored in shop, then on to Wm. R. Moore School of Technology
for two years of trade school most of the time in drafting class or woodshop classes, then at Memphis State University obtaining a degree in Industrial Technology.
So after years of school, I was always a shop major and today I still have a woodworking
shop and some active project to keep me busy.
