I no longer offer free design services

This Website is not longer current. It remains due to the fact that there are many links pointing to this site due to some of the items available for download for free. Please visit W3 Teck for Web Development Servises

The first question you might ask is:

Why Free?

The main reason for offering free services is what is known as Catch-22. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

[catch-22 - a paradoxical rule found in the novel Catch-22 (1961) by Joseph Heller] : a problematic situation for which the only solution is denied by a circumstance inherent in the problem or by a rule; also: the circumstance or rule that denies a solution.
What is my Catch-22 situation? It is the same with most professions: You can't get a job without experience - and - you can't get experience without a job.

You get what you pay for?

Most people quote that phrase. They assume that you can't get anything good for nothing. I personally do not believe this. I always do the best job that I am able to do; it is a matter of personal pride. I would never put my name on anything that I feel is deficient in any way.

But to ease any fears, I will tell you that my services are not actually free. In return for my work I am provided with a valuable service. I receive experience and work that I can add to my Portfolio. For more information on what I receive from this deal please see my Terms & Conditions further down this page.

What can you get for free?

Graphic/Logo Design, Animations (GIF/Flash/Shockwave), Website Design, Banner Design (Static or Animated)... Almost anything you can think of... It really depends on the complexity of the request. While I am willing to do free work, some requests may be more than I am willing, or able, to do for free. Contact me and we can discuss it.

Web site designs are limited to informational sites like this one. All the pages of the site will be based on the same layout. When necessary an alternate first (splash) page might be possible.

I do not do search and e-commerce web sites for free. These require complex programming that is beyond the scope of what I am willing to offer freely. However, there are other services available on the Internet for creating things like Shopping Carts through services such as PayPal. I may be able to help set up something along these lines.

For an idea of all that I can do take a look at my Portfolio.

Terms & Conditions

Anyone receiving free design services agrees to the following terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are subject to change.

Upon completion of work, the client (that means the person or company that work is done for) agrees to provide a statement or "testimonial" about the work that was done and/or about the provider (that's me, the person doing the work). This statement can be used by the provider as he chooses (or not) in his online and/or printed portfolio.

The client will receive all applicable rights to the work. This means that the work belongs to the client and they may use that work or restrict its use in any way they wish, with the following exceptions:

  1. The client agrees to use the work for a period of no less than 1 year. This period is so that the provider can tell prospective employers where his work is being used and so that those prospective employers will be able to locate that work and see it being used.
[The 1 year period does not apply to banners created for banner exchange programs. For banners, the client agrees to use the work for a period of no less than 3 months.]

  2. If for some reason, beyond the control of the client, the client is unable to use the work for the specified period (for instance: the client goes out of business) the client gives permission for the provider to display that work on his own web space, if he chooses to do so.

  3. The client gives the provider permission to use the work done in his online and/or printed portfolio of work as he chooses.

  4. After the initial period of use, the client is free to stop using the work provided. However, the client agrees to allow the provider to continue to use that work in his online and/or printed portfolio as he chooses whether or not the client continues to use the work.

  5. The client agrees to provide a link to this web site from the client's web site during specified period and for as long as the client continues to use that work. If that work is a web site this link will take the form of a statement on the main page of the site that it was created by the provider.

If the client is unable to meet these conditions the work immediately becomes the sole property of the provider and the client loses all rights to that work.

All work done for a client will be made unusable by others, if the client so chooses. This means that even though the work is displayed on the providers web site, in the providers online portfolio, that it will be altered in some way that will make it useless to those that might download it.

How to Apply

Contact me and let me know what you're looking for. At this point we will discuss it and I will decide if I can help you or not.

Please keep in mind that most of the content (the text) on a website will be provided by you, the client. You need to have a good idea what you want on the site before you make a request. Less information is needed up front for logo, graphic and animation design.

Current Projects

  • I currently not taking requests for free work.

Something to Remember

I am currently a full time student. I also have a regular job. I do my best to complete any assignments for free services as quickly as I can, but there are times that other things in my life must take precedence.
