Hours of Operation

Generally the Heritage Rifle and Pistol Club is open for use by our members every day of the year, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. Central Time (or Central Daylight time) and sunset (legal sunset time as stated by the national weather service)

There are days when the range will be closed or partially closed for the following functions:

Scheduled Competition Matches , specifically USPSA and a few special matches.  For most of the USPSA events, the rifle range will not be closed but all of the lower ranges and pistol bays will be used for most of the day.   Check the club calendar to see the match schedules for these events.  Most competition matches are completed before 4:00 p.m on the day of the match and the range re-opens then.

Specific bays at the range will be closed for approved training classes on posted dates, the sponsoring training entities pay the club a negotiated fee for each of these training events.

Club work dates that are scheduled for range improvement projects.  On these dates all ranges will be closed during the work period.  Usually advance notice for work dates will be posted on the web site, but there will be times when this has to occur on short notice because of the availability of heavy equipment for the earth movement we are engaged in with our construction projects.

The hours of range operation when you may shoot are from 9:00 a.m. until sunset.  The sunset time is the one officially stated for that date by the national weather service.  These hours of operation are required for the club to be compliant with the Range Protection Act passed by the Alabama Legislature in 2001.  You must comply with this policy, NO EXCEPTIONS!
