Hours of Operation

Generally the Heritage Rifle and Pistol Club is open for use by our members every day of the year, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. Central Time (or Central Daylight time) and sunset (legal sunset time as stated by the national weather service)

There are days when the range will be closed or partially closed for the following functions:

Scheduled Competition Matches including IDPA, USPSA, SASS, and special tactical matches.  For most of these events, the entire range will not be closed and a one or more bays may be available, but in certain matches the entire range will be used.  Check the web pages for each sport to see the match schedules for these events.

In most cases, the range will be closed for match set up and take down on the day of the match, but sometimes for major matches this will happen the day before.  We will try and post these dates on this web site, but if you are in doubt, please contact the match director for that sport as listed here to see if shooting bays will be available.

Club work dates that are scheduled for range improvement projects.  On these dates all ranges will be closed during the work period.  Usually advance notice for work dates will be posted on the web site, but there will be times when this has to occur on short notice because of the availability of heavy equipment for the earth movement we are engaged in with our construction projects.

The hours of range operation when you may shoot are from 9:00 a.m. until sunset.  The sunset time is the one officially stated for that date by the national weather service.  These hours of operation are required for the club to be compliant with the Range Protection Act passed by the Alabama Legislature in 2001.  You must comply with this policy, NO EXCEPTIONS!
