79. A273- Luther L. HOVATER was born about 1808 in Iredell Co., North Carolina. He appeared in the census in 1840 in Franklin Co., Alabama.⁽¹⁴⁷⁾ Luther was between 20&30 year old and Elizabeth was between 20&30 year old they had five children with them. He appeared in the census in 1850 in Franklin Co., Alabama.⁽¹⁴⁸⁾ Luther was between 30&40 year old and Elizabeth was between 30&40 year old they had 9 children with them and one had die. He appeared in the census in 1860 in Franklin Co., Alabama.⁽¹⁴⁹⁾ Luther was 52 year old and Elizabeth was 44 year old they had 7 children with them. He died before 1870 in Franklin Co., Alabama. He was a Miller/ ran a distillery. He was described as Lost both arms in an accident at the mill.

He was married to Elizabeth SCOTT (daughter of James SCOTT and Gracy) on 16 Feb 1831 in Blount Co., Alabama. Elizabeth SCOTT was born about 1816 in North Carolina. She appeared in the census in 1870 in Franklin Co., Alabama.⁽¹⁵⁰⁾ Luther had die and Elizabeth was 56 year old they had 2 children with her. She appeared in the census in 1880 in Franklin Co., Alabama. ⁽¹⁵¹⁾ Elizabeth was 66 year old and living alone. She died after 1880 in Franklin Co., Alabama. She was buried after 1880 in Franklin Co., Alabama. She and Luther are most likely buried in Hovater (or Tollison ) Cemetery in unmarked graves. Luther and Elizabeth moved from Blount County to settle on Tollison Creek in Franklin County, Al. A273- Luther L. HOVATER and Elizabeth SCOTT had the following children:
