He was Heavy drinker much of his life and smoker. Had T.B. in early 20's. His mother died from T.B.. He had Social Security Number 525-03-9391.

* Denton had whooping cough Sept 1917. Had chicken pox Jan 1924, had the measles, March 1924. Denton was vaccinated for typhoid the last of June and first of July 1925.
* Denton began to wear glasses the 22 Jan 1926. Denton had some kind of breaking out the Dr. said it look like itch, it only lasted a week, that was about the middle of Feb 1926.
* Denton had his tonsils removed Oct 22 1927.
* John Denton Burke left Idabel Oklahoma July 12, 1928 with his father Alvis Burke and mother Vallie. Went west for his mothers health, stopped in Carlsbad New Mexico at Danny Camino)?? July 19, 1928. Moved a cross the street from (Samp)??, April 27, 1928. in garage. Built a four room house with bath, moved in it Sept the 11 1929.
* (page 162) - Feb 11, 1928 Denton said he dreamed that night that some body had offered $2,000,000 for the first non stop across the pacific, so he got in his toy air plain he got for Xmas (or the one he made), Buzzed a little with his mouth and he was a cross, and he had won the prize.

* (page 156) - Denton graduated from the 8th grade May 1930 making 7th and 8th grades in one term at school. He had begun working in the Cavern City Chromie printing office before school was out. He bought his first bycicle June 2 1930.

* Denton made a trip to Okla, and Ark in January - 1935, Denton left home March 15th, 1935 went to California, came home April 14th 1935

* J.D. moved to Carlsbad with his family on July 21, 1928. They came from Stamps, AR., (or as stated in Alvis' Book) from Idabel Oklahoma.

* J.D. was a bookkeeper. His Social Security # 525-03-9391.

* He died of cancer and bracciactus of the lung in El Paso Texas hospital. He was the payroll master for "Potash Company of America" during the early 1940's and he was an accountant for the Electric Shop and H&E Electric in Carlsbad. He was the last person to hold the mineral rights at "Slaughter Canyon Cave" at the Carlsbad Caverns National Park, just south of Carlsbad, New Mexico. He mined bat guano from 1947 until about 1950. He did not make much money from this endeavor, however he did make some money when they filmed "King Solomon's Mines" at the cave.

*His close friends at Eisenhower High School - Carlsbad, New Mexico called J.D. (Static) because he was always talking.

He was married to Mildred Dean DAUGHITY (BURKE) (daughter of Samuel Edgar DAUGHITY and Callie WILLIAMS) about 1938. He was divorced from Mildred Dean DAUGHITY (BURKE) about 1973. Mildred Dean DAUGHITY (BURKE) was born on 1 Nov 1916 in Norman, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma. She died on 26 Oct 1979 in Lubbock, Texas. She on 26 Oct 1979 in Lubbock, Texas. Brain Anurysm in Lubbock, Texas. She was buried on 29 Oct 1979 in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. She is buried next to J.D. who died in 1985. Her children wrote "A Giver" on her grave stone, the only phrase that adequately described her. She was a great mother! She had Social Security Number 525-66-4248.
