Mesa Street, are scheduled Monday at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles L. Crutchfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Carlsbad Cemetery under the direction of West Funeral Home. He died Friday in a local nursing home. A resident of Carlsbad since 1945, he owned and operated a barber shop until retiring in 1968. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Claudice, of Carlsbad; two sons, David Eugene of Calvin, Oklahoma and Gerald Wayne of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Juanita Smith of West Valley, Utah; four brothers, Charley and Grady Burke of Stamps, Arkansas, Harvery Burke of Waldo, Arizona and Henry Burke of Denton, Texas; two sisters, Rubye Tillinghost of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Lillie Drake of Little rock, Arizona; and 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
He was married to Jeuveda Mae HALEY about 1928 in Garnet, Arkansas.
Jeuveda Mae HALEY was born on 27 Jan 1910 in War Eagle, Benton Co.,
Arkansas. She died on 17 Jun 1977 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was buried in
Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.(694)
