As a person trying hard to live in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable manner, I became frustrated with a lack
of concise local information about how to actually be environmentally responsible, especially as a consumer. Who in Houston
sells salvaged or recycled building supplies? Where could I find organic garden supplies and plants for my yard? Which organic
labels I saw at the grocery store really meant something? While I found many sources of information, they were disparate
and hard to keep organized. No wonder many folks didn't bother trying to live more sustainably! It was time consuming and
a pain in the butt! I wanted to make it easier for anyone seeking local Houston resources for organic and environmentally
responsible goods and services to actually find them. This site is not meant to be a collection of articles or information
on why someone should eat organic, or why you should avoid chemical fertilizers in your yard. I figure if you are on this
site in the first place you already have some knowledge of these issues, and there is plenty of information out there for
your reading pleasure. I've included my favorite resources in the Links section. I want to help people in my local community
make effective decisions and find the right resources, right now and right here in Houston. I hope this guide is helpful
to you!
