What kinds of animals do you groom?
I have typically come
from shops that only groom dogs. However, it has come to my attention, that there are very few groomers in the area
that will groom cats or "pocket pets".
These pets generally
benefit from a good grooming and as long as the animal is in good health and not fractious, we will schedule an appointment
for them as well.
What kind of appointments do you schedule?
Appointments times are
flexible. We offer limited evening and weekend appointments as well. We schedule 2 hour appointments,
this gives us the time to set up, complete the groom and clean up the mess before heading to the next appointment
without being rushed.
I work, could you still groom
my pet?
Keep in mind, after the first groom, if things go well, you do not need to be home
in order for me to groom your pet. Just like hiring a pet sitter, we will come in, groom the pet, and leave the house
as we found it.
Where will you bathe and style
my pet?
The best location will be decided when we arrive
for the appointment.
Small pets can easily be bathed in a utility
or kitchen sink, or the bathtub. Large dogs can either be bathed in the tub,
or outside with the hose (weather permitting). We use plastic sheeting under
the grooming table to catch as much loose hair as possible. The grooming can
be done anywhere that you have ample space and an electrical outlet.
Do I need to stay with
my pet while it is being groomed?
It is actually less stressful for your pet if you are not in the immediate vicinity
of the grooming. There are times that we may need to use a "stern" voice with your pet if it is misbehaving, but we
take the trust you have in us very seriously and would not do anything to harm an animal.
What kind of fees do you charge?
Our fees are comparable to a high end "salon". Please remember, you
are paying for a specialized service. Mobile grooming generally costs a bit more - Convenience, individualized
attention, time and product quality are all factored in to the price.
Are there exceptions to what
you will groom in someone’s house?
Unfortunately, aggressive pets or pets that require sedation are usually
better off being done in a grooming salon under the supervision of a veterinarian.
What is the NDGAA Certification?
As of 2005 there is no requirement
for "vocational licensing" or certification of pet groomers. Hair stylists for people? Yes. Animals? No.
Certification typically involves voluntary performance testing focused on the aesthetic
value of your finish grooming based on the pet's breed profile as set forth by its individual breed standard. Consumers may
gain more confidence knowing that you have been certified by a reputable organization, and certainly it will distinguish you
as being far removed from amateur status.
What age limits do you have?
We will start grooming pets as young as 8-10 weeks. At this age, the goal
is to get them acclimated to the actual grooming process. We may only trim the face, feet and rear and give the young pet
a bath the first time or two.
What vaccines do you require?
The only requirement is that your pet be current on its Rabies vaccine. Since your pet will not be coming into contact with any other animals during it’s grooming, We do
not require any other vaccines.
However, We do strongly encourage you to follow the health plan suggested by your
veterinarian regarding vaccines.
Please ensure that your pet is healthy enough to withstand the grooming process. If the groomer feels as though an animal is sick or otherwise unable to withstand
the stresses of grooming, we will reschedule your appointment for another time.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can either call or E-Mail
Please keep in mind that the Safety of the pets
we are grooming always comes first. Therefore, we will not answer the phone if
we are in the process of grooming a pet. Please leave a detailed message and
someone will get back to you as soon as possible
