BEDDING AND LINENS. All bedding and linens are provided. At the end of your stay,
please leave your bed unmade, as this will let the cleaning person know which beds to change.
CABLE TELEVISION. There is cable television in the living room. There are also
a variety of videos and DVDs located in the TV cabinet.
WOOD BURNING STOVE. The wood burning stove is located in the living room. Please take
extreme care when operating the stove. See the special instructions located next to the stove.
DINING. The house is fully stocked with cookware and dishes. Feel free to use all
of the items you find, but clean up after yourself. There is also a coal grill located off the back of the house. Please do
not operate the grill around trees or on the porch.
TELEPHONES. There is no telephone at the house. If you don’t have a cell phone
and need to make a call, you can use the pay phone outside of Helmick’s Grocery Store.
HEAT. In the cold months, the heat will most likely be turned down to
around 55 degrees when the house is not in use. The thermostat is located in the main room where you enter. Please feel free
to turn up thermostat.
WATER. The water is hard well water. There is a mineral treatment system
in the house that removes excess iron and other minerals. The water is fine for bathing and dishes, but please use bottled
water for cooking and drinking. You can buy gallon jugs at Helmick's Store. Upon arriving, the hot water may have a strong
smell; simply run the water for about ten minutes in the kitchen sink and the upstairs bathtub and the smell should
dissipate.
TRASH. Please put trash in the trash container off the back of the house.
CLEANING. Please clean up after yourselves and leave the house as you
found it. The vacuum cleaner is located in the closet off the main entry.
WEATHER-Winter: The house is located just off 68 and is always well ploughed. Summer:
Being that the house is situated in the mountains, the area usually cools off considerably in the evenings and can even be
a bit chilly in the early morning. There are fans for each bedroom, the entry way and the living room to keep you cool.
PETS. Your pets are welcome as long as you clean their paws off after they've been
outside.
EMERGENCIES. Dave and Pam Kyle are the caretakers for the property.
If any emergency should arise, visit them at the second house across the creek on National Pike. You may also go
to the Flintstone Fire and Rescue Department on Flintstone Road.
