April 28

Workers Memorial Day, Market Square with speakers: Ed Yankovich & Nick Molnar, UMWA

The Battle of Homestead Foundation has been programming events, speakers and art shows at the Pump House since 1996. Due to the lack of electricity, heat or sanitary facilities, the programming has been restricted to the warm weather months, from April through October.

The Foundation has acquired a generator to facilitate presentations, although night time events are still restricted due to safety concerns.

More than 2,000 attended some 18 separate events during the 2002 year at the Pump House. They included tours, scholarship classes, visiting delegations and various speakers and panels as part of the Pump House Lecture Series.

Many of the events were accompanied by film, overhead visuals and slides as well as poster sessions.
