One of the greatest joys of being Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Church
is serving the many families of Holy Name of Jesus School!
A pastor is a shepherd, and being able to celebrate the School Masses
each Wednesday, and teaching in the classrooms each Tuesday has been a real blessing in my life.
Last year I showed all of the school children my slides of the Holy
Land where Jesus was born, where He grew up, where He proclaimed the Message of the Kingdom of God!
This year I showed all of the children the slides of the church
I visited in Uganda five years ago, and I also showed the older children slides of my time in Bolivia when I was living and
working in an orphanage with the MAryknoll Missionaries and my time in Cambodia with Catholic Relief Services.
It is good for our children to get an understanding of what our
Church is doing throughout the world!
Each day our school classes begin with time of praryer, and that
sets the tone for the rest of the day. We always remember, God made us - because God loves us!
As a result of the economic situation in our country right now,
we have too many empty desks. I remind families that a Catholic education is an investment in our children's future,
and we hope to have every desk filled everytime we start a new school year.
There are numerous scholarships available through the Catholic Education
Foundation, my Pastor's Scholarship and other sources. We invite you to invite your friends and neighbors to call our school
concerning opportunities for their children.
I am blessed to be the Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus and I look forward
to each day when we can share the Good News of Salvation with the children of God! May the Lord continue to bless us
always and in all ways. Fr. Paul Spellman.
