Keep in mind a one-week retreat next summer, May, 2010, to Tuscany, Italy. For this third annual retreat,
trust the intuition of your facilitator, Susan Palmieri. Together we will create an itinerary that allows for photography,
painting, journaling and personal retreat. Except airfare and personal ammenities, all is inclusive: touring, lodging
& meals, transportation, and entertainment. Your meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinners include antipasto, entree,
wine, dessert and coffee.
Here is a taste of Tuscany, and some of the possibilities for lodging, and a peek at some of the places
we visited this spring!

Vacation Homes and Apartments in Italy
Our country properties in Tuscany are all in spectacular settings in rolling Tuscan hills near vineyards
and olive groves. Some are on a working farm and others are on wooded estates. All have been carefully renovated, but still
have characteristic Tuscan architectural details such as terra cotta floors, fireplaces and brick-and-beam ceilings.

Il Mulino (The Mill)
For over 300 years, Il Mulino di Torrigiani was the olive mill (Frantoio) and grain mill (Mulino) for the Villa Torrigiani,
the famous villa of a well-known noble family in nearby Camigliano.
Set in a private valley in the hills of Lucca, Il Mulino is surrounded by woods with a trail to a waterfall. The mill
is built on its own bridge. Be lulled to sleep by the serene sound of a bubbling brook as it flows beneath the house from
the hills above.
The ground floor houses the mill's olive grindstones and fireplace, displaying the ancient process of the "frantoio"
olive pressing.

The first floor has a living room with a new comfortable sofa and upholstered chairs, fireplace, a baby grand piano and dining
room/kitchen.
The top floor features three large bedrooms furnished with antiques and comfortable beds and a sitting room with a day-bed
for reading or an extra guest. Two large bathrooms are adjacent to the bedrooms each offering a tiled shower, sink, toilet
and bidet.
Relax near the bubbling brook. Lounge chairs and tables are perfect for getting together to talk about the days' events
or for doing nothing at all.
From the bridge patio, watch the sun set over the hillside as you sample your newly purchased wines from nearby vineyards.
You may even decide to dine "al fresco!"
Il Mulino has several bedrooms to accomodate our group.
Ricerca Interiore
It's time to learn a few words in Italian. Ricerca interiore is the Italian phrase for "retreat." You
can see that the language suggests this is not just a time-out or vacation, but a chance to retreat to your "interior."
The
retreat includes lodging, meals, touring, and the opportunity to work with artists to develop a truly personal, transformative
practice. While this retreat is a photographer's dream, our plan is to provide some hands-on skill-building for your personal
memory book.
While previous retreats have taught authentic Tuscan cooking, olive gathering and harvesting - this summer's
goal is to provide a writing & photography workshop.
We hope that you are tempted to consider this Journey with
us. Please contact us for more information.
