Raymond Bridwell, author and consultant developed Hollister's Hydroponic Nutrients in 1969. The Bridwell family was in the business of growing hydroponic greenhouse tomatoes. They soon discovered that available nutrients were inconsistent and of marginal quality. Raymond began analyzing tissue samples of their best tomato plants to determine the ideal nutritional requirements. Having access to the chemistry and biological science laboratories of a major Southern California university, he was able to compile information from research studies as well as his own "real world" testing. Anticipating the worldwide benefits of such a nutrient, he designed it to be compatible with a wide range of water quality variations. Soon other hydroponic growers were approaching the Bridwells for their highly successful nutrient.
While teaching extension courses at the University, Raymond wrote his best-selling book
HYDROPONIC GARDENING and soon became a missionary in various countries assisting the people with vegetable production.Raymond holds a degree in Horticultural Anthropology and is a leading authority on hydroponic gardening. His career includes designing and engineering commercial greenhouse operations in several locations throughout the world, consulting and lecturing.
In 1999, after 20 years of association and extensive training, Raymond Bridwell authorized Hollister's Hydroponics to be the exclusive blenders and distributors for his world renowned Hydroponic Nutrients.
