7% SALES TAX Imposed on Massage Services

New Jersey will impose the sales and use tax act on massage services effective 10/1/06:

Massage Services (N.J.S.A. 54:32B-3(b)(8) Massage, bodywork,& somatic services, except such services provided pursuant to a doctors' prescription.

It is official. Effective October 1, 2006, New Jersey had extended the 7% sales and use tax to all services provided by Holistic Healing Arts. Please note that with a doctor's prescription you may be exempt from paying this tax; therefore I encourage you to obtain a doctor's prescription that indicates massage for your current condition.

The rates including the 7% Sales Tax as of October 1, 2006:

One Hour Session $ 80
One and Half Hr Session $ 135
Two Hour Session $ 177
