Devi Ma Ayurveda Hospital - http://www.holistic-health.org/devima/

Dr. Shrestha has become a leader in women's heathcare issues in Nepal and has opened a small Ayurveda hospital, Devi Ma, outside of Kathmandu. Here, Dr. Shrestha offers the community health services for little or no cost as well as training for traditional birth attendants (midwives) in nutrition, pre and post natal care. Devi Ma also offers training programs for the local villagers to help them learn to identify and cultivate with sustainable practices the ayurvedic herbs growing locally. This community education and outreach provides villagers with both sustainable income and the awareness of how to treat themselves with herbal medicines.

Chagpori Tibetan Medical Institute - http://www.chagpori-tibetan-medical-institute.org/

The monastery known as Chagpori was the first official medical college in Tibet. It was established in accordance with the explicit wish of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama in 1696 and was destroyed by the Chinese occupying forces in 1959. These pages will explain what it was, and has become, and how the late Dr. Trogawa Rinpoche, one of very few surviving doctors who had been trained in its system, worked for much of his life to see it re-established in exile. In 1992 with the blessings of HH the Dalai Lama, the Chagpori Tibetan Medical Institute (C.T.M.I.) was inaugurated at Darjeeling, India, in commemoration of Chagpori, Lhasa, Tibet.
