The Rio Las Vegas
It’s not hard to see why the Rio is the crown jewel of the Harrah’s organization.
Located slightly off the strip on Flamingo Road, it’s bright blue and purple lights are a Mecca for Las Vegas.
The Rio is immense with over 1700 square feet dedicated for slots and video poker and 70 table
games ranging from black jack, baccarat, roulette, let it ride, Caribbean stud and craps, the Rio has everything you are looking
for when gambling. If you are looking for new and exciting games the Rio always has something for you currently featuring
Boston Five Card Stud. If Slot machines are more your cup of tea the Rio prides itself on always offering the finest and newest
slot machines.
You can travel the world in the restaurants of the Rio, everything from Italian at Antonio’s
Italian Ristorante, Indian at Gaylord Indian Restaurant, to standard coffee shop fare at Sao Paulo Café. The buffets at the
Rio are the best in Vegas, the Carnival World Buffet is affordable at $14.95 and offers everything from Mexican, Burgers,
Pizza, Asian to some of the best desserts around. Carnival Buffet is worth the visit alone but make sure you don’t eat
before you arrive. The Village Seafood Buffet is also well worth the visit definitely the best seafood buffet in Las Vegas.
Other restaurants at the Rio include All American Bar and grille, Bamboleo Mexican Restaurant, Buzio’s Seafood Restaurant,
Fiore Steakhouse, Hamada’s Asiana Restaurant, Rosemary’s, Star Deli Express, Tilted Kilt Bar, Toscano’s
Deli Market, Voodoo Café Lounge and Vine Cellar and Tasting Room.
If eating and gambling isn’t your style the Rio offers a wide variety of things to do from
over 60,000 square feet of shopping ranging from artwork to fresh flowers. The spa and salon is one of the best around. Ipanema
Beach offers a great relaxing vibe. The Rio also has a world class golf course, the Rio Secca Golf Course is located in the
foothills of the Black Mountain and is only 12 minutes off the strip. This very challenging course is home to the Tiger Jam
Celebrity Scramble, the Jack Daniels / Rio Secco Shootout as well as many other golf events during the year.
New at the Rio is BevErtainment which is both male and female cocktail servers that perform every
hour on stages thoughout the casino. The festival in the sky is still a must see with floats suspended from the ceiling and
beads being tossed to the crowd while entertainers dance. Both are great and add an excitement you just won’t get at
other casinos.
The Rio advertises their rooms as all suites and that’s an understatement, when you enter
your room you are greeted by a floor to ceiling window. The room is equipped with a 32” tv, 2 queen size beds and a
wrap around sofa. The bathroom has 2 sinks a coffee maker, refrigerator, and a vanity. One odd feature is that the shower
has a window that looks into the living room. The view is great over looking either the mountains or the strip.
The Rio offers everything you need when on vacation, from meeting rooms to fine dining, spa’s
etc. The staff was friendly and helpful, I could spend a week in the place and never see or experience it all. It’s
not hard to see why the Rio is the best Harrah’s property around surpassed by none.
