Individuals may collect memorabilia or display collections in museums.
They discuss local history in forums and have round table meetings within their communities.
From tracing military unit personnel histories and battles.
To documenting personal firsthand stories of the citizens of those bygone days.
This information is then often used by Living History actors to portray people of that day.
Due to our location in Northern Virginia, Civil War takes center stage.
Get interested and find out about what your hometown or local is famous (or infamous) for.
Do what you can to help promote discussion on local history.
Learn about what you should hold dear of the countryside around you.
The web is a great place to search for small local grassroot groups that are getting together.
Try searching under round tablepreservation or conservation and your state or county.
