LOCAL TEAM COMPETITION

At The Hill a team is defined as:

1.  A group of four or more riders that have a current 2009 team roster on file at the track registration area.
2. To be considered for team competition, ALL team riders being used on a team sheet must have a shirt denoting their team name.

The common levels of team competition at THE HILL are:

TROPHY TEAM: A basic team of 4 riders or more.

BIKE SHOP TEAM: A team with Bike Shop support and may have other co-sponsors as well . 

• Trophy teams compete against Bike Shop teams at THE HILL.

• No factory rider may be placed on a team roster at The Hill

• A rider can only be listed on 1 team roster at THE HILL.

• Riders who are added to a team or change teams after the team roster has been turned in must wait 7 days before competing for their new team.

• Team entry forms are available from registration before each race.  They must be filled out and the bottom half returned to registration BEFORE RACING BEGINS.

• Each team will keep track of their team points as the main events are run and submit the top half of the team sheet to the anouncing tower at the conclusion of the race. Team standings will be announced and the team trophys of 1st and 2nd place will be presented at that time. 

All teams earn the amount of points totaled on their team sheet each week. So it is possible to have more than one 1st, 2nd or 3rd place points winner on any race day. The following is only to determine who gets the trophy. 

For tie breaking on normal non-team money race days, THE HILL uses the following methods to determine which team gets the 1st and 2nd place trophy.

1. The team with the least amount of total points races wins the trophy.
2. If still tied, the best transfer ratio wins the trophy.
3. In the event of an exact tie for first or second place, a coin toss will determine which team receives the trophy for that race.

The top team at the year’s end is calculated by totaling actual team sheet points earned each week based on one sheet being submitted per team. That team will take possession of the traveling trophy immortalized by having their name engraved on it. There will also be special team trophys for 2nd and 3rd place.
