The personnel of this base contributed a total of $869.70 that will go to pay for a party and presents for these parentless girls.
Funds to finance the party and present giving were obtained from donations on payday, a Monte Carlo night held in the Base Service Club recently, and the profits from both the Officer’s Club and the Airmen’s Club on 2 November. The total amount collected and based on an average individual contribution, shows that each officer and airman gave approximately three dollars.
The 1951 party, which is scheduled to take place at Tulln on December 21, will mark the fourth time that the children have visited the base at Christmastime. Special Services hostesses from the Tulln Service Club will handle arrangements for the party. These hostesses, who were directly responsible for the success of the Monte Carlo night, will supervise the purchasing, wrapping, and distributing of the presents.
