My earliest gardening memories were made with my grandmother.  I tagged along when she went to work at greenhouses and garden centers.  She did everything…  from giving very opinionated advice to making wreaths at Christmas… from seeding and planting bulbs to putting in entire landscapes.  I used to sit under greenhouse benches… breathing in that wonderful greenhouse aroma.  Lantana was my favorite flower then… when I was 3 or 4 probably… I used to love the way it was one flower made up of so many other flowers – all in beautiful colors.  Now I live where lantana grows year round and it shares my garden with so many other wonderful gifts of this planet.  Thanks, Oma – for sharing your love of plants with me.

One word describes my garden best:

Eclectic

There is no central theme to my garden.  I have focused at times on edible plants - but poisonous ones are not excluded.  There are many plants that could win a beauty contest - but others are laughable.  Some come with lovely fragrance - many have none.

I am as opinionated about gardening as my grandmother was.  This site is just a compilation of some things that I enjoy about gardening.  I hope some of it helps you on your own gardening path.

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to get in touch and let me know what you think!

Favorite Plants

* Citrus - evergreen - lovely leaves - heavenly flowers - beautiful and delicious fruit
* Palmetto - old ones with great reclining trunks
* Bamboo - that clacking does it
* Roses - ahhhhhhhhhh
* It would be a whole lot faster and easier to list my  much shorter list of unfavorites!
