The October 7, 1944 mission objective to Ruhland, Germany, was to destroy oil supply installations vital to the Reich's war machine. In addition to heavy flak, The Grim Ripper Squadron encountered ME-262 jet propelled fighter aircraft operating out of Brandenburg.
