On Saturday morning  at 2011 Marion County inauguration cereony at the Indiana Historical Society. Layton and Curry were swon in. The Democratic party  now controls all counrywide offices. while Republicans control the Indianapolis Mayor's office and a  majority in the City-County Council. But the pledge from those taking over the reigns in public safety  wasn't a partisan one, but a promise to "patch up" public perception.

With one hand on the Bible, Marion County's new prosecutor was sworn in for the second time during that ceremony Saturday morning. His first crack at the oath came just before midnight at the Country's Arrestee Processing Center in order to keep the official chain of leadership intact.  But, as the first Democrat to hold the office in 16 years Terry Curry said there is a lot more chain to "unravel".

In the course of the campaign, it was abundantly clear that a level of distrust had developed," he told 24 Hour News 8's Troy Kehoe following the ceremony. "We're going to do a number of initiatives that will take a little higher profile in the community, and more aggressively engage the community, and I think we'll fix that in pretty short order."
