A Pile of Sylvia Dolls
Sylvia's head is only four pieces of fabric. Like the rest of her, it's sculpted from the inside out with carefully placed wads of polyester stuffing. It's a challange; to turn a two-dimensional cartoon into a three-dimensional creature, allowing her sassy character to come through. She sits on my desk and tells me what she thinks.
The Sylvia Doll was born in Oakland California. We stopped making Zippy Dolls around that time, for Sylvia definitely did not approve.
