Why Christianity is Superior
By Mike Demory
ATHEIST Michael Newdow has
been working feverishly to remove God and namely “Christianity” from every corner of society. However, he and
every other humanist will continue to be unsuccessful due to the providence of God. Try as they might, no skeptic, atheist,
humanist, Moslem, etc. will be able to rid the world of Christianity. True, they might be able to reduce it to a mere whisper
of what it is today, but they will never be able to totally eradicate it (Dan. 2:40-44; Isa. 55:11; Rev. 14). It is truly
difficult for any child of God to understand why others hate Christianity as they do. When we read the Scriptures and compare
them to the religious beliefs of others, Christianity in its purest and truest form stands out in the crowd as “The” superior standard of living. Let us briefly compare some of the World’s religions with the religion of God to find
out why Christianity is superior.
Buddhism: It is reported that 300 million souls in the world today believe the
doctrine of Buddha. Begun between 563 and 483 B.C. Buddhism is based upon the unrecorded teachings of Gautama Siddhartha.
The essence of this religious doctrine is that one must grasp that life is nothing more than an illusion. Because nothing
really exists, there is no need to concern oneself with the needs of others. Since nothing exists, there is no such thing
as famine, pestilence, evil, sin, etc. The goal of Buddhism is to save oneself from this illusion of life and return to Nirvana
(non-existence).
Christianity is superior to Buddhism because it is based upon the recorded teachings
of Jesus Christ (Heb. 1:1-3; Jn. 1:14; 1 Jn. 1:5-7). Teachings that every man and woman can read for themselves and understand
in the same way (Eph. 3:4). Christianity is superior to Buddhism because life is not an illusion, but was created by God for
the purpose of proving souls (Jas. 1:3; 1 Pet. 1:7-9; Rom. 2:4-10). True New Testament Christianity surpasses Buddhism because
it demands all believers to seek the needs of others over self (Phil. 2:2-4; 1 Cor. 10:24; Matt. 7:12).
Islam: Claiming one billion adherents worldwide, the religion of Islam originated
around AD 622 with the writings of Mohammed. His armies surrounded town after town; demanding obeisance to his new found religion
or face slaughter. Islam is based upon a religion steeped in vendettas and fate.
Christianity is far superior to the religion of Mohammed because God’s people
are commanded not to live by the sword (Rom. 12:19; Prov. 24:29; Matt. 26:52). The
Word of God teaches that we each have a choice in how we live and that there is no such thing as fate (Josh 24:15; Isa. 7:14;
Rom. 12:9; 1 Thess. 5:21-22; Phil. 4:8; 1 Cor. 13:4-8).
Hinduism: Believed to be one of the oldest pagan religions, Hinduism began
between 2000-1500B.C. It was established by a conquering nation to help maintain subjection of the people in India. They believe
that there is one God, but that he is found in over three hundred thirty million forms.
Their core beliefs center on reincarnation, karma, and divinity found
in everything. Their law of karma (fate) has caused them to believe no man has control of his life or ability to change his
destiny. For this reason Hindu’s see no reason at all to help one another—for it was their pre-determined fate.
Christianity is exceptionally greater to Hinduism because there is only ONE God. God gave all animal life to man for his
personal use (Gen. 1:29-30). Hinduism worships the created, while Christianity worships the ONE who created ALL (Mal. 2:2;
Exo. 20:3; Rom. 15:11). Although it may seem better to receive unlimited chances to get it right (reincarnation), God has
stated that all men and women get only ONE chance, “it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, but after this the judgment”
(Heb. 9:27; 2 Cor. 5:10; Ecc. 3:2, 20).
All “Third World” countries, which are steeped in pestilence,
famine and homelessness, are products of the false religious practices of Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism. Only “Christian” nations work at helping others with food, clothing, shelter, etc. It is the morals and ethics of Christianity that allows men like Michael Newdow to vent his frustrations on the only God approved religion
(Eph. 1:4-10; 3:10-12). If it weren’t for Christianity the United States, Britain and others like us would be facing
the same calamities as the “Third World” nations. Christianity is superior because it
is the only religion in the world that demands loving our neighbor and seeking his best possible good, as well as applying
penalties against those who obey not God’s word (Matt. 7:12; Mk. 12:30-31; 2 Cor. 5:10).
