Joh_14:29 (NASB)
[29] "Now
I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe."
Luk_24:25-27
(NASB)
[25]And
He said to them, "O foolish men and
slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
[26]"Was
it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter
into His glory?"
[27]Then
beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them
the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
From
the beginning of time God has chosen to speak through men. He hand
picked men to speak for Him and tell what His will was and what was
to come in the future. He did that so that we would believe in Him
and in all His written Words.
Jesus
told His followers the following...
Joh_14:29
(NASB)
[29]
"Now I have told you before it
happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.
Afterward
it did happen just as He said.
Joh_2:22
(NASB)
[22]
So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He
said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus
had spoken.
"...to
which you do well to pay attention..." (
2Pe_1:19-21
)
Peter
tells us that we would do well to pay attention to all that God has
said. What God has said is true. What He has spoken will come to
pass. Regardless of what we believe or how contrary it seems to us,
God's Will, will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
God
does not take lightly the one who would try to change His words or
speak for Him without being sent. ( Deu_18:14-22
; Jer_23:1-40
; Rev_22:18-19)
