Shaar Ha-Shamayim, Parkway Jewish Center (PJC), was founded in 1955 by a few devoted families who sought to support a growing
Jewish community in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the only Conservative synagogue in the eastern
suburbs. We at PJC like to think of ourselves as a "heimisha", family-centered, congregation.
PJC is part of the community-wide adult Jewish Educational System and provides opportunities for adult study at our synagogue.
Our Hebrew and Sunday school program educates our youth from pre-kindergarten through B'nai Mitzvah and Confirmation.
Our congregation provides a lifestyle of Jewish tradition, enabling both men and women to fulfill their Jewish heritage
through education, worship, and kinship.
With each challenge we have encountered, we became stronger in our faith. Our this website grows, we'll provide more detail
on our synagogue's history or particular events in our past.
We invite you to become a part of Parkway Jewish Center today and a piece of its history tomorrow.
