My name is Betsy.   I was born on November 10, 1964 in the Chicago area. I'm the second oldest of 5 children.   Since my birth, until I graduated from high school I moved five times. The places I've lived helps to define my interests and certainly my favorite sports teams. I've lived in Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis and Houston. My family has lived in Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Houston, Dallas, and Cleveland.   I love sports, drawing, creative writing, family and enjoying the outdoors. Since adding MacDuff, my Border Terrier, to my life I also now enjoy doing things with him, whether it is a long walk, tossing a frisbee or competing in events.   I went to college at the University of Iowa from 1983 to 1987, graduating with a BBA in Accounting. No, I'm not as dry as that major sounds. I may be an accounting major but the one thing I absolutely abhorred was debits and credits. My experience out of school was in tax, mainly international corporate tax. Going into the tax field opened up a whole variety of new and interesting tasks.   I finished my MBA from DePaul University in 1995, focusing on International Business as a major.   Currently, I've been out of the tax field for since 1994. I now pursuing the financial/business analysis side of corporations with a strong background about the "big picture" view I obtained from my tax experience. My work has an international focus to it, so I'll probably throw myself into some more school for language courses.   I also live in the Chicago area as Chicago is my kind of town.
