• Seizures, mental confusion & dullness, obsessive or repetitive behaviors
• Eyes may be bloodshot, irritated or have glassy appearance
• Long-nosed breeds may bleed from the nose
• Hypersensitive to sound & touch.  May have secondary ear infection
• Lung infection, tonsillitis and coughing are common signs
• Excessive thirst and urination, secondary cystitis are common
• Arching of back - causes may include secondary spinal infection, abdominal discomfort, pain in kidneys, etc
• Faded coat color, grayish cast
• Males may have secondary prostate infection, sterility
• Loss of muscle mass
• Diarrhea, sometimes containing blood.  More common in E. risticii infection
• Ulcer-like symptoms, loss of appetite, erratic vomiting (often of bile only)
• Bitches may have secondary uterine infection, prolonged heat cycles, absence of heat cycles, fetal absorption, fading puppies

Acute infection is usually more dramatic.  Symptoms was & wane in chronic infections.

Usually have more than one symptom.  Affected signs may be very subtle, especially in stoic dogs.
