When you find an injured animal, it is important to know who to contact for information on
what to do and where to bring the animal.
This directory includes several Arkansas wildlife rehabilitators listed by County.
They may not be affiliated with HAWK, but have agreed to be listed here so the animal you have found can get to a rehabber
quickly.

What does a Permit cover?
USFWS Permit: A rehabilitation permit issued by the United States Government Fish
and Wildlife Service allows one to rehabilitate migratory birds. The
Migratory Bird Treaty Act (text) (summary) makes it illegal for anyone to take, possess, import, export, transport, sell, purchase, barter, or offer for sale, purchase,
or barter, any migratory bird, or the parts, nests, or eggs of such a bird except under the terms of a valid permit issued
pursuant to Federal regulations. The migratory bird species protected by the Act are listed in 50 CFR 10.13. View the list of MBTA protected birds.
Arkansas Rehabilitation Permit:
In April of 2003, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission enacted a law requiring a permit to rehabilitate wildlife in Arkansas.
Those doing rehabilitation prior to April 2003, had until December, 2003 to apply for their permits under the Grandfather
clause. Any new permit applicants after this date must fulfill AGFC requirements in their applications.
